A 27B model tuned to write everyday messages, not chatbot prose
Made by Altworld
View profile on Hugging Face (opens in a new tab)Hemmingway-1 is a 27-billion-parameter language model (built on Qwen3.5) fine-tuned specifically for the everyday writing people actually do — a text to a landlord, a work email, an awkward note to a colleague — rather than the longer, hedged answers general chat models tend to give.
The creator says it was tested head-to-head against several well-known models on eighty real writing requests, judged blind, and that it won most matchups and was also more often mistaken for text a person wrote. It is released for free non-commercial use, with separate Mac and Android apps and a web option for trying it without running it yourself.
You could use it to…
- Get a message it actually hands you, not three options
- Write the awkward text to a landlord or a colleague
- Compare it against a benchmark run by its own judge
Can I use this?
You'll need A GPU and the transformers library, or the linked apps · Setup needed
Worth knowing All benchmark and win-rate figures are the creator's own reported results from their own evaluation, not an independent test, and the model is licensed for non-commercial use only. The creator states it performs worse on hostile storytelling and long fiction than models built for that. CC-BY-NC-4.0 licence (non-commercial). BuildTube has not run or verified this model.
