Let coding agents hand off memory to each other across tools
Made by Fabio Akita
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)ai-memory is a self-hosted memory server that lets more than twenty different coding-agent tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and others — share one memory instead of each keeping its own that vanishes when you switch tools.
Quit one agent mid-task, open a different one in the same project, and it can pick up a structured handoff describing where you left off, what failed, and what is still open. The underlying data is plain markdown files in a git-backed wiki you can read, edit or grep yourself, with a rebuildable database as a derived index rather than the source of truth.
You could use it to…
- Let Claude Code and Codex share one memory of your project
- Pick up a coding session where a different agent left off
- Search your own project history as plain markdown files
