Have your coding assistant research, edit and render a video
Made by Calesthio
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)A set of pipelines that turn an AI coding assistant into a video production line: you describe the video you want in plain language and the agent researches the topic, writes a script, gathers or generates footage, cuts a timeline and renders the result.
The project stresses that it does not only animate still images — one route builds a library from freely licensed stock footage and open archives, retrieves real motion clips and edits those together. Finished pieces are composed with Remotion, a tool that renders video from web code, which is what makes the whole process scriptable by an agent.
Can I use this?
You'll need A coding assistant, and API keys for any paid generation · Setup needed
Worth knowing The pipelines that generate original footage call paid services, so cost depends on the route you take; the project publishes worked examples with their own totals, including a 60-second animated short it says cost $1.33 in generation fees. Stock and archive material carries licences you are responsible for honouring. AGPL-3.0, so a modified version offered over a network has to publish its source. The README also carries paid sponsor placements. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
