Run an open coding agent in your editor, terminal or as an SDK
Made by Cline
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)An open-source coding agent available in five shapes from one engine: a VS Code extension, a JetBrains plugin, a terminal tool that also runs headless for automation, a desktop app, and a software development kit for building your own agents on top.
It reads your project structure and makes coordinated changes across files, watching linter and compiler errors as it goes and fixing missing imports or type mismatches before you see them. In the editor every edit appears as a diff you can review, modify or revert, and checkpoints let you undo the agent’s work.
You could use it to…
- Rename something across nine files in one reviewed diff
- Fix a missing import before you even see the error
- Undo an agent's work with a checkpoint
Can I use this?
You'll need An editor or terminal, and your own model access · Setup needed
Worth knowing You bring the model, so the cost of every run is yours and depends on which provider you choose. The agent runs shell commands and edits files, with human approval as the control — which only works if the approvals are actually read. The desktop app’s scheduled routines mean an agent can act when you are not watching, which is a deliberate decision to make rather than a default to accept. Apache 2.0.
