Turn any piece of software into a tool an AI agent can drive
Made by ✨Data Intelligence Lab@HKU✨
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)CLI-Anything is a registry and toolkit for generating command-line interfaces that let AI agents operate software that was not originally built with agents in mind, from design tools to specialized desktop applications.
A companion hub — installed with one pip command — lets anyone browse, install and manage community-built CLIs for tools like ArcGIS Pro, Obsidian, Rekordbox and Calibre, with new entries reviewed and merged from community pull requests. The stated goal is to make existing software "agent-native" without each app needing to build its own AI integration.
You could use it to…
- Turn a piece of software into a tool an AI agent can drive
- Install a community-built CLI for apps like ArcGIS or Obsidian
- Browse a registry of agent-ready command-line tools
Can I use this?
You'll need Python, pip, and a terminal · Setup needed
Worth knowing Each listed CLI is a separate, community-contributed integration with its own maturity and reliability, reviewed by the project's maintainers before merging but not independently audited; some entries interact with real files, accounts or paid software. Apache-2.0 licence. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
