Run a graph database that stores its data in cloud object storage
Made by HydraDB
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)HydraDB is a graph database (a database built around connections between records, not just rows and tables) written in Rust that keeps its durable data in S3-compatible object storage instead of on a server's own disk.
It supports OpenCypher, a common graph query language, and connects over the same Bolt protocol Neo4j uses, so existing graph-database client libraries can often talk to it unchanged. Storage and compute are split into separate roles that can be scaled independently, which the project positions as an advantage for large graphs that need to grow without moving all the data.
You could use it to…
- Run a graph database that stores data in cloud object storage
- Query connected data with the same tools Neo4j users already know
- Scale storage and compute independently as your graph grows

Worth knowing This is infrastructure software meant for people who already run databases, with no graphical interface described; a query language (OpenCypher) and an understanding of graph data are needed to use it. AGPL-3.0 licence, which has implications for software that includes it. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
