Run a private AI assistant with a team of specialized agents for your household
Made by Tencent Cloud
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)Octop is a self-hosted AI assistant that runs entirely on your own machine and gives each person in a household or small team their own set of specialized agents to switch between — one for weekly reports, one for scheduling, and so on — while keeping every conversation and credential local.
It is reachable through a web dashboard, a command line, or chat apps like Telegram, Feishu and DingTalk, and it can also delegate coding tasks to tools like Claude Code. A single admin account controls who in the family or team gets access to which agents.
You could use it to…
- Run a private AI assistant entirely on your own machine
- Give each family member their own specialized agent
- Chat with it over Telegram, DingTalk or a web dashboard
Can I use this?
You'll need A server to self-host it on, and a model provider key · Setup needed
Worth knowing This is self-hosted software you are responsible for running, securing and updating, and while conversations stay local, connecting it to a cloud model provider still sends your text to that provider. MIT licence. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
