Have an AI agent design a LEGO model you can open in 3D or Blender
Made by Carlos Antelo
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)ldraw-nova gives an AI agent the tools to design LEGO models from a written idea.
The agent writes code in LDraw, a decades-old text format that places real LEGO parts one instruction at a time, so the result opens in LEGO design programs. Rather than placing bricks by hand, the agent writes a plan and a Python generator that produces the model, then renders pictures, checks them for collisions and gaps, and adjusts. You get the LDraw file, a 3D viewer, a Blender-ready file and the agent's chat. It runs as a web app in Docker with your own AI provider.
Can I use this?
You'll need Docker, Git, about 5 GB of disk, and an AI provider account (OpenAI, Claude or OpenRouter)
Worth knowing Licensed AGPL-3.0: you may use and change it freely, but if you run a modified version as a service for other people, you must share your source code. The creator calls it a first release: large, correct models currently need expensive high-end AI models, generation is slow, spaceships and minifigures still need work, and VR on Meta Quest 3 has many issues. Better part search needs an optional TypeSafe API key; without it the agent falls back to plain text search. The app has no login, so run it only on networks you trust. LEGO is not involved with this project. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
