Clone voices, dub videos and narrate audiobooks on your PC
Made by Palash Debnath
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)VoiceStudio is a free, open-source desktop app that does with your voice what expensive studio tools do: clone a voice from a sample, design a new one from a text description, dub a video into another language with timed speech, dictate, transcribe, and turn documents into audiobooks — across a claimed 646 languages.
Everything runs on your own computer, so your audio never leaves it, and the project says usage analytics stay off unless you opt in. Installation is one command on Mac or Linux; the default speech engine is OmniVoice, and a demo voice ships with the app so you can try cloning right away.
You could use it to…
- Clone your voice from a short reference recording
- Dub a tutorial video into another language, in your own voice
- Design a brand-new voice from a written description
Can I use this?
You'll need A Mac or Linux computer, ideally with a capable GPU for local models · Setup needed
Worth knowing Voice cloning can impersonate real people — only clone voices you own or have permission to use. Local models need decent hardware; weaker machines will be slow. Licensed AGPL-3.0. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
