Give every parallel coding agent its own Git working copy
Made by Maximilian Roos
View profile on GitHub (opens in a new tab)A command-line tool for Git worktrees, aimed at people running several AI coding agents at once.
A worktree is a second working directory for the same repository, which is exactly what keeps parallel agents from overwriting each other, but Git’s own commands for them are clumsy enough that people avoid the feature. Worktrunk makes worktrees as easy to move between as branches: they are addressed by branch name, paths are generated from a template you configure, and commands that take a branch also accept the directory it is checked out in. Hooks automate the local setup each new worktree needs.

Worth knowing It is a convenience layer over a Git feature, so it removes friction rather than adding capability, and the underlying worktree rules still apply. Running many agents in parallel is the workflow it is built for, which has its own costs — several agents mean several bills and several sets of changes to review. GitHub does not recognise the licence file, so check the repository’s own terms before reusing the code. BuildTube has not run or verified this software.
